There’s a saying that the best ideas often come from the most unexpected places—and for La Perima, that couldn’t be more true. What started as a simple idea inside a bedroom during the pandemic lockdown eventually grew into a premium bedding brand loved by many today.
As Rachelle, the brand’s visionary, found herself staring at mismatched, fading sheets while stuck at home, she realized something profound: her sanctuary wasn’t providing the rest she needed, and she knew she wasn’t the only one feeling this way.
“Funny thing is, this all started during the pandemic when I realized I’ve been in our home for so long. ‘Trapped’ in the bedroom, I realized our bedroom is not the one I liked to sleep in,” Rachelle recalled.
That moment of realization transformed into a pursuit of better quality, leading to the creation of La Perima alongside her three sisters: Ruby, Racquel, and Raizza.

How La Perima built a brand Filipinos love coming home to
Building a business is rarely smooth sailing, especially when you’re doing it with family. For these four women, the journey was a test of trust, clear communication, and the ability to balance professional goals with long-standing family dynamics.
“It is both challenging yet also rewarding to be doing business with your sisters,” Racquel said.
“The challenging part is it’s very easy to be subjective rather than objective when there are disputes regarding some decision-making, emotions sometimes get ahead of logic,” she added.
Beyond being sisters, another thing that added to the feat is that each of them came from different fields as Ruby shared, “We come from different backgrounds and ways of doing accounting, marketing. But at the end of the day it’s not about money but the fulfillment. Hence the petty arguments are not important, we know at the end of it, it’s not personal.”
In fact, it was their differing backgrounds that became their greatest asset. Ruby brought finance experience, Rachelle handled operations, Racquel managed the arts and design, and Raizza focused on research and development.
“We really experienced clashing in terms of how we see things,” Rachelle admitted.
“And it is just brilliant because we get to have consensus and get the best of both worlds because we open the line of communication. At the end of the day, we want the best for the business so that was our core value,” she added.
For the sisters, this isn’t just about selling pillowcases; it’s about the tangible impact on a Filipinos quality of life. As Raizza puts it, “We truly believe that ‘recharging’ is one way to help the quality of life despite all of the noise and chaos we experience in our daily lives. And what better way to recharge but to have good quality sleep right?”
Today, La Perima stands as a testament to what happens when you combine intentionality, family support, and a desire to serve the community. It’s a brand that encourages Filipinos to invest in their rest, proving that the most important space in the house—the bedroom—deserves a little extra love.
As the sisters continue to grow the business, their advice to others remains grounded in faith and emotional preparedness. “Study well and prepare first before stepping into doing business.. Like prepare yourself mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually not just financially,” Raizza said.
“Always choose a product that you believe in and would personally buy and love, in that way you already understand what the market wants and needs,” Racquel emphasized.
“Likewise, choose something that you know you’ll enjoy doing because at the end of the day, even if working means you need to WORK HARD & dedicate your TIME, you should still be able to enjoy and love the process of doing it,” she added.
For these four sisters, the story of La Perima is far from over; it’s just the beginning of a long, comfortable journey home Filipinos love going home to!
